Tis the Sunday morning Before and After entry!
Greg has been working hard this weekend in gutting the third floor of Slum and Blight. A scary job when one looks at the before photos. Note that those two buckets on the ground play an important role here. Greg filled these buckets up with plaster and walked them down the stairs to empty.
BEFORE
I don't know if we will ever use them, but we saved the kick board and door moldings from here and from downstairs. We might sand and reuse them. I always like putting useable things back if need be.
BEFORE
Note the antenna in the center of the room in the above photo. Greg took this apart and gave it to Lester, the scrap metal guy. He was happy. Especially with the truck tire rim to which it is attached!
What a mess! He got the walls and ceiling down and now comes the clean up part, which took him all of yesterday morning. Where was I you ask? Hiding at home "doing my taxes." Me and Miss Mae were actually snuggled on the couch reading....just kidding, I was doing my taxes and will be back at work on the ole' girl on Monday!
DURING
A much improved space ready for the next phase, which entails probably pulling up the floor or at least flooring over...hard to salvage these old boards, building a better temporary stairway, and at some point, some dormers, electric, insulation, walls, new windows, blah blah
AFTER, well, during, but for now AFTER!
